Description

Living in Southern California, Cheyenne was used to seeing hot military men as she went about her daily business. An anonymous encounter at the grocery store cemented her crush on one such man. He was big, built, and incredibly easy on the eyes, but it wasn't as if he would ever really notice her.

Always in control of any situation, Faulkner “Dude” Cooper knows explosives. As a bomb expert, he's lived through many high pressure situations. Disfigured by a bomb while on a mission, he's used to being looked at with pity. When he's called to a local supermarket to assist the local PD, the last thing he expects to find is a generous act of kindness performed by a beautiful, amazing woman. Enchanted by her selflessness in the face of danger and intrigued by her actions to save civilians she didn't know, Dude’s hooked.

Dude was able to save Cheyenne from the group of thugs trying to take her life, but when the past comes back to haunt them both, sometimes having the knowledge and the desire isn't enough to beat the countdown of the clock.

**Protecting Cheyenne is the 5th book in the SEAL of Protection Series. It can be read as a stand-alone, but it’s recommended you read the books in order to get maximum enjoyment out of the series.

Strong plot and characters but too much detailed sex for me.

Loved the action. Could definitely do with less explicit sex scenes. Imagination is so much better. Great book
  • Good plot but…

I liked the plot, but was left largely dissatisfied. The writing and dialogue felt so cliche and immature that I couldn’t really connect to the story. Both characters were spilling out all their issues in the first chapter! I understand that the author was setting the scene but it was too much too fast. Also, the switches in perspectives from one paragraph to the next was weird.

Each book can stand alone, but I loved the characters so much, that I had to keep buying the books until the last one was completed!!

Cheyenne and Faulkner/Dude meet when she’s a hostage with a bomb duct taped to her chest—definitely not a meet cute. But it is the beginning of an intense, whirlwind romance that includes danger, an alpha troupe of SEALs and plenty of steam.

  • All that and a Navy SEAL!!!

I guess when it's right, it's right and this is how the relationship went for Faulkner "Dude" Cooper and Cheyenne Cotton. He's the ultimate alpha. He's possessive, loving and likes to be in charge in the bedroom. What more could she want in a man? How about all that and a Navy SEAL! As fast as the romance happens in the other books in this series, this one happens even faster. The story line is great but I almost felt rushed while reading. I can't imagine all that Cheyenne went through. All that tape! What a nightmare! Thank you Susan Stoker for another great read. I can't wait to read about which SEAL falls next. Received a copy in exchange for an honest review. I was not compensated for this review. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinion expressed is my own.
