Hurt people hurt people.

Say there was a novel in which Holden Caulfield was an alcoholic and Lolita was a photographer’s assistant and, somehow, they met in Bright Lights, Big City. He’s blinded by love. She by ambition. Diary of an Oxygen Thief is an honest, hilarious, and heartrending novel, but above all, a very realistic account of what we do to each other and what we allow to have done to us.

this was one of the most honest books i’ve read.

it didn’t hook me at all, the plot is very bland and mundane for me. i really do think this is a great book but not my cup of tea. i read 31% of this book and it just didn’t peak my interest at all. i can’t imagine finishing this book and reading the others, as much as i love the aesthetic. i would just say that this book is very realistic, so it doesn’t have the usual glamour and interest as fiction books because life isn’t as thrilling and glamorous in real life. it’s literal a diary, just some dude talking about his unhappy life. didn’t like it, but hey maybe it’s just not my cup of tea.

Never read it, but’s that’s legitimately the best title I’ve ever heard. I wish I’d thought of it. Good job!

Like most of the other comments, I don't read much either. After reading the first page in a bookstore I purchased it and it's sequel. Finished the book in one day as I couldn't put it down. It's cleverly written and has a nice twist. Currently reading the sequel.
  • Okay

I'm more of a mystery/thriller reader. This book was okay. I'm still not very happy with the ending and I don't want to read the sequel. Props to the author for staying sober and dealing with the sad mess.
