I never thought I’d see her again.

We shared one hot night together back in college before our paths took us in different directions.

But now, the most brilliant and beautiful woman I’ve ever met is back in my life. And the chemistry I remember? It’s more combustible than ever.

Except… our fling is forbidden and must exist only in secret. Her rules, not mine.

I can’t be her forever. I’m not that guy, and even she knows it.

But I can’t stay away from her either. I’m determined to claim not just her body but her heart, even if that’s the one thing she’s vowed not to give me.

Okay, so I love a good hockey romance, and author Kendall Ryan has proven that she's great with those. But she's already written a whole team's worth in her Hot Jocks series, so what, I wondered, would be left to say? Well, let me just tell you that she showed me, because I thoroughly enjoyed Holt's and Eden's story in THE REBEL, and am completely on board to see what's next. One of my favorite things about this book is that, rather than jump right into the players' stories, Kendall started with Eden's. As the heiress to the Boston Titans, Eden Wynn has got plenty working against her. Young, beautiful, and with plenty to prove to fans, players, and herself, Eden's got her work cut out for her as far as owning a professional hockey team goes. When you add in the fact that her hockey playing ex is on the team, things are bound to get tricky. But Eden's armed with determination, grit, and support in the person of Holt Rossi. Holt Rossi is a blast from the past that Eden was not expecting. Their shared history is short, but one that neither has ever forgotten. And as Holt, responsible for Eden's security, spends more time with Eden, the feelings that have never really gone away prove to be stronger than ever. The fact that I really liked both Eden and Hold made this book even more enjoyable for me. And, while it is the first book in a sports romance series, Kendall makes THE REBEL much more about two people helping each other become the best versions of themselves, and that personal connection is what really makes the story for me. THE REBEL is a solid 4 star read for me, and, given the hints left at the end of the book, I'm looking very forward to THE RIVAL, which is Alex's and Aspen's book. In the meantime, pick up THE REBEL and enjoy. ❤️

I love this book. Holt and Eden are amazing together. These two characters were classmates in college and had an amazing night. This is a second chance romance. This type of trope isn’t my favorite but Kendall Ryan made it work. Eden is a hockey team heiress and the new head of a hockey team. Holt has been hired to secure Eden from some added security. Plus Eden’s ex is one of the hockey players on the team. This story is steamy, angst, and sweet. There is a good amount of drama without being dramatic. This is a great read I can’t wait to read the next book in the series. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Loving the start to this new series from Kendall! In college, Eden made a decision to go after the most popular jock at school, and as she finally attempts to make her move, she finds him with another girl. Holt runs into her and they end up spending the night together, finding chemistry they’ve never had with anyone else, but it scares her, and he wakes up the next morning to a note saying that night was a mistake. Years later, Eden has ended up with that popular jock, although after years of being together end up broken up thanks to his cheating, and she’s taking over her dream job as owner of the hockey team her ex was just traded to. With the public upset over her new role, the organization hires security, which is what Holt has established and been up to since college. When Eden realizes who Holt is, she starts to realize that maybe he wasn’t the mistake all those years ago and that rather her decision to go after the popular guy was. With the chemistry still there, these two initially fight their feelings but finally give in, and it’s a great storyline from there. I love that these two are able to get to know each other and understand each other while also being able to support and help the other work through things better than they would alone and taking Holt out of his shell he’s been in so long. I loved this couple and was so happy got their HEA! The ending of this book though is what shocked me because of who’s involved in the next installment and it made me so excited for the next book! I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

I really enjoyed reading Holt & Eden’s story as they maneuvered through some unique obstacles toward love. It was refreshing for the hero to be the “one left behind” for once. But Holt is a hunky, brawny type of guy with a big heart which makes him a true gentle giant and I love his character. Eden is a very lovely yet determined young woman who really struggles with facing the challenges in her life but rest assured she will overcome. All in all a good start to this new hockey series by the very talented Kendall Ryan. Looking forward to Alex’s book.

Eden and Holt meet in college. She is crushing on Alex who is a bug time player and Holt lives in the same frat house as a tutor/grounds keeper for the frat. At a party Eden decides to make her move but another girls moves in first. Eden ends up spending a few hours in Holts room first talking then moving to more intimate things. She leaves during the night leaving a note saying it was a mistake, eventually starting to date Alex. 6 years later Holt and Eden are brought back together when, after her grandfather dies, she inherits his NHL team and needs extra security (Holt’s company) because the fans don’t want her as owner. Her relationship with Alex ended a few months before and before her grandfather died he signed Alex to the team. Things are very complicated for Eden, especially since the attraction between her and Holt is off the charts. Can 2 people from very different lifestyles not only overcome that but the media/fans reactions, their dysfunctional families and her ex to get a hea that she then away years before? • Great second chance hockey romance

Kendall scores a hat trick with this second chance hockey romance. I loved Eden and Holt’s chemistry from that one night in college to their reunion years later. Their chemistry is off the charts. It is great that they are so open about each of their backgrounds and the status isn’t a real issue, although they both acknowledge it, you can’t change who you love. Eden is such a strong, independent heroine that seeing her rely on and look to Holt is amazing. If you like a book with strong characters and some steam you will enjoy this one. I didn’t love this book and much as I thought I would. The story didn’t have much depth.
